fbpx Japan's PS Plus Free Games September 2018

Welcome back to another edition of PS Plus Free Games. In Septemeber, there are several heavy hitters entering the free games list. If you like your fighting games and you like your first-person shooters, you are in luck. Let’s jump right in.

Soulcalibur V

The fifth entry in the venerable Soulcalibur series of fighting games reinvents the franchise with a faster and more aggressive style. Some long-time fans weren’t too fond of the changes, but the new fighting style and design helps newcomers into the series. It also helps that the game is free this month, so if you haven’t checked out the series in a while or you’ve never given it a go, now is the perfect opportunity.

Destiny 2

The original Destiny was heralded as a return to form for developer Bungie. Well… not at first. But through a series of updates and expansions the gameplay and lore of the world grew and players were drawn in. With Destiny 2, there have been mixed reactions. Bungie still soldiers on, adding new content and expansions every few months. With the game being free this month, it’s easy to jump in. Speaking of expansions, a new one titled Forsaken was released just a few weeks ago, so it will be easy to get caught up in the action.

Advent Dark Force

Developer Compile’s Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force might be a mouthful of a title, but it’s actually a pretty straight forward role-playing game. The original version, just title Fair Fencer F, was released back in 2013 for the PS3 and PC. This expanded release came out in 2015 and added some overhauls to the visuals and battle system, as well as new story routes and some rebalancing. Reviews for the enhanced version have been fairly positive with many praising the updates that were made.

Also Free This Month:

  • Superdimension Neptune vs. Sega Hard Girls (PS VITA)
  • Clanpool (PS VITA)

If you’re looking for even more anime-themed games for free, then Sony has you covered this month with a couple of Vita releases.
