Recently, we got back together with our friend Hiro to help him shoot a video at Fly Station Japan. FlyStation is a simulation that allows you to experience the sensation of skydiving without… you know… actually jumping out of a damn plane. Check out our 360 video up top if you’re curious about how that works!
Fly Station is a Russian company with its original location in St. Petersburg. The Japan incarnation is just outside of Tokyo in Saitama.
The price tag for this experience is a little steep. It costs roughly $100 and each person is allowed two and a half minutes in the chamber. However, if you have an extra hundred or so dollars to blow – it’s certainly a unique experience!
If you aren’t in the area and feel like you’re missing out – Fly Station uploads videos of all their customers to their website for everyone to see. We had a few good laughs and we suspect you will too.
Fly Station is certainly a fun experience, but we know that extreme sports aren’t for everyone. Don’t fret! You don’t have to let that extra cash burn a hole in your pocket! We’ve done the research for you and found some other places in Tokyo you can spend that burdensome extra $100.
Rent a Fancy Car
For just over $100 you can rent a convertable Porsche and spend a few hours tearing around the streets of Tokyo. Be safe and wear your seatbelts kids!
Take a Midnight Train Going Anywhere
Get a tourist pass for the Shinkansen and spend five days traveling across Japan. The pass allows you unlimited access to certain trains and busses across the country – so you can plan a trip or just get lost. I hear they also have nice bathrooms.
Have a Michelin Star Dinner
Tokyo has over 200 Michelin star restaurants. Some of them offer dinner courses for one costing $110 or less. Many of them also offer lunch courses for around $60 a head.
Stay at a Fancy Hotel
Many of Tokyo’s Michelin star restaurants are situated in luxury hotels – so why not stop over for a night while you’re there! Hotels like the Hilton and the Marriot feature rooms costing just over $200 for two. Make sure to take all the free towel- I mean tiny shampoos that you can!
Disneyland!
A 2-day passport to Tokyo Disneyland is roughly $130. The passport lets you visit Disneyland AND DisneySea so you definitely won’t run out of things to do. Just try to avoid spending $8 on those lukewarm churros.
Don’t forget to check out Fly Station’s website for more information!
